The Blessed Virgin Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ. Mary is the subject of much veneration in the Christian faith particularly in the Roman Catholic church and also highly regarded by Muslims. Because of her humility, piety and role as mother of the Savior of humanity, Mary has been accorded great respect and the focus of much devotion.
