Woodstock Zodiac Chime

Each zodiac sign is represented on this cloisonne-style windcatcher.

In astronomy, the zodiac is the ring of constellations that lines the path the sun takes across the sky in a year. As is the case with the windcatcher on this chime, the zodiac is often depicted as a circle that's been divided into 12 equal zones, one for each constellation. Today the 12 zones, or signs; are most often associated with the horoscope.

Starting at "noon" and working our way counter clockwise around the chime's windcatcher, the zodiac signs are:
- Aries, the ram
- Pisces, the fish
- Aquarius, the water-bearer 
- Capricorn, the sea-goat
- Sagittarius, the archer 
- Scorpio, the scorpion
- Libra, the scales
- Virgo, the virgin
- Leo, the lion
- Cancer, the crab
- Gemini, the twins
- Taurus, the bull.
