In Tibetan Buddhism, Taras are female Bodhisattvas, representative of the Buddhist virtues of compassion and achievement. Visualized in a range of symbolic colors stressing different aspects of her wisdom, the Green Tara is perhaps the most powerful and dynamic, helping one to overcome obstacles, guiding and directing us to enlightened activity.

The pendant employs the geometric form known as a Mobius strip, named after the German mathematician August Ferdinand Mobius. It represents the seeming paradox of a plane without end. As such it became an accepted symbol for infinity, an appropriate and symbolic form for the repetition of this mantra.
